Sigma 12-24mm f/4 Art: sixth sense of prospective

Sigma Art

a tribute to the Photography composers

Wandering around my city with this 12-24mm, it cames natural to put it in comparison with one of my favorite Sigma Art, the 20/1,4
from which it fisically differs more in the diameter of the front lens (larger than a full cm) Immagine Allegata: 507 _D5K9224 30.0 mm f-1.4 1-320 sec a f - 8,0 Max Aquila photo (C).jpg
than for the (almost identical) lenght Immagine Allegata: 506 _D5K9217 30.0 mm f-1.4 1-500 sec a f - 5,6 Max Aquila photo (C).jpg

Immagine Allegata: 079 _D8X9775 12.0-24.0 mm f-4.0 1-250 sec a f - 16 Max Aquila photo (C).jpg

and, searching for subjects suitable for this focal lenghts, I made some interesting observations, at least on the 20mm focal:

meanwhile the feeling that...lights up, passing to the f/1,4 prime  :occhiali: , really bright into the finder!
Furthermore, that Art 20/1,4 shows less saturation than this zoom @ same focal, not particularly sharper than the zoom and shurely lightly overexposed, almost of 1/3 stop.

Now let's watch @ f/4 and f/11 same shot and respective detail for both the lenses:

But excellence is both

In the opportunity of using all the apertures, I've determined as best value (for hyperfocal usages) in DOF that f/11, as you can see among these three shots, on the ferry name in background (focus was on the foreground boat)
